Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry via the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy , Resources and Fuel Department, Policy Division have announced the recipient projects for the 2024 subsidy program for Geothermal Power Generation Promotion.

In addition to conducting geothermal exploration with Academia Sinica in Yilan , the three parties had also discussed together at the “Datun Mountain Geothermal Seminar” held by the National Central University earlier this year. Academia Sinica is Taiwan’s highest academic research institution.

GeothermiX was held at the Earth Sciences department of the University of Pisa, and was organized by PhD students in collaboration with the Italian Geothermal Union (UGI), the Italian Geochemical Society, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), and the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Tuscany (ARPAT).

It is China’s first time hosting the international geothermal event of this kind. The three-day WGC 2023 is attended by more than 1,400 guests from 54 countries and regions, hosting 88 forums and seminars in parallel with technology and equipment exhibition, which is joined by a record-setting number of companies.

The itinerary and logistics were defined by the geothermal research group of the INRS (Institut national de la recherche scientifque) , led by Professor Jasmin Raymond, co-investigator of the project, and supported by postdoctoral researcher Mafalda Miranda from Portugal. Finally, we visited the Pico Vermelho geothermal power plant.
