The new stationary energy storage system (ESS) that supplies power to the Porsche plant in Leipzig covers an area nearly as big as two basketball courts and is made up of 4,400 end-of-service-life Taycan batteries salvaged from pre-series and works vehicles. South African electricity supplier Eskom has launched an EV pilot at the Eskom Academy of Learning (EAL) in the town of Midrand, Gauteng Province.
