The Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) has announced the list of six geothermal power projects that have been selected for the 2024 Geothermal Resource Survey Subsidy Program. Three of the six projects are new, while the other three are continuation of previously funded ongoing projects.

The operators of the Qingshui geothermal power plant in Yilan County, Taiwan, have announced that the project has now produced more than 38 million kWh of electricity as of the end of July 2023 since i ts opening in October 2021. The reservoir temperature is around 180 degrees Celsius at a depth from 1,200 to 2,100 meters.

Australian geothermal developer Earths Energy (EE1) has provided updates on their South Australian projects following a review conducted both internally and by geothermal consultancy JRG Energy (JRG). Drilled in 2009, the well reached a depth of 3672 meters and had a measured temperature of 176 °C.

Australia-based company Groundlink Energy Pty Ltd (Groundlink Energy) has been granted a geothermal exploration license for a site in Takara, north of the Efate Island, which is part of the islands of Vanuatu. 40 of 2019. A resource with a size of 2-10 MW (P90 of 9.6 MW) was delineated by studies at the time.
