San Francisco library boasts a green roof and LEED Gold status

The vegetation, mostly native grasses and perennials, on the roof helps filter stormwater runoff, while the onsite electricity is generated through solar panels. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light even deeper into the building. The library’s green roof is also visible from the inside.
